The city that never sleeps!
It was clear Saturday morning when the sun rose up slowly reminding that this is another beautiful day! Life has many gifts to offer and sunrise is like the gift wrap! We feel the color, vibes of gift wrap right? The thoughts that plunge into us stating "what surprise is waiting for me under this wrap?!" A beautiful day!
" Thank you, Genie!" said, Dora. Fictionally, Genie is a spirit that is imprisoned in a lamp and it grants all the wishes when ordered. But actually, a Genie is living inside all humans which is capable of granting all wishes we ask for! Achievers say the power of getting what you want lies within you! It's Genie! Ask for all goodies, soon you will own them! That is how the tale of two states emerged! Dora and Boots consistently worked towards their travel plans and it happened!
"Pray well" insisted Boots, standing outside a temple in Chennai. This temple is meant for trippers who offer their prayers to the goddess Amman before starting their journey. They mounted their backpack on the carrier and tied perfectly with cycle ropes. They are all set!
"Should we snack on Tender coconut at 10 AM?" grumbled Dora. They were in Ulundurpet and Boots was screening the google maps for navigation. On the way, Mr.Boots halted the bike for breakfast wherein they had beautiful south Indian cuisine. Soon they reached Trichy and the next halt was Kaveri bridge. They took some rest and the scorching heat with the riding gears and jackets made them exhausted. Boots was wearing a product(jacket) from Scala Gears via online shopping. It had CE level 2 protective armors with inner rain, thermal liners which keep him protected in all weather conditions. The fit was perfect and the quality was good. Ms.Dora wore a leather jacket purchased from spencer plaza which was quite decent.
They reached Madurai at 2:30 PM with butterflies' in tummies! Dora was surfing the internet searching for the best restaurant on the way and the result was Kumar mess. Boots excitingly rode to Kumar mess, but it was a failure. People were crowded inside the hotel. "Great Chef!" uttered Boots and finally dined at a small restaurant with very few visitors, but the taste was not compromised. The chef was using wood, charcoal to cook the food and the kitchen wasn't hidden from the customers. In fact, the kitchen was at the entrance. After lunch, the trippers dropped off their luggage in the homestay, and Mr.Boots was taking a rest while Dora was surfing the web to know about the details of upcoming destinations. After refreshing, they planned to visit Meenakshi Amman's temple but it vain. The shrine was closed, and they decided to go for a walk around the temple.
The beautiful, majestic temple had four entrances and sculpture-rich towers in all four directions. A big bow to King Kulasekara Pandya for coming out with splendid architecture in the 6th century! Amazing isn't it! One of the temple towers was having a friendly conversation with the beautiful moon. Boots captured it from different angles. As they were walking around the temple, colorful shops were attracting them. Beautiful bangles, toys, clothes, jewelry shops, and the energetic shopkeepers, equally energetic bargaining customers, small tots wearing beautiful traditional pattu pavadai (pair of skirt and tops with vibrant color and silk finish) were so attractive.
On the advice from Dora's friend whose native is Madurai, they decided to dine their dinner at Konar Kadai. After finishing the dinner, Dora reminded Boots about Jigardhanda- a cool drink consisting of milk, ice cream, and other enriching added flavors. Madurai is famous for this drink! Boots happily vroomed the bike to the popular jigarthanda shop-"Famous Jigardhanda", ordered special jigardhanda which costed them 50 bucks and it was satisfying with yummy taste! The time would be 10:45 pm and god! The reason behind why Madurai is known as Thoonganagaram( A city that never sleeps!) was revealed. Bright lights, busy roads, energetic people, fresh jasmine flower smell, hot idlis being served to customers at 11 PM?! Incredible city and people!
After a heavy tummy, it was time for a sound sleep! Yet Boots food hunt was not over." what?!" asked Dora when Boots suddenly halted the bike in front of a parota ( refined flour pancake) stall. "Shall I?" asked Boots!"Go for it, is that a stomach or grinding machine," laughed Dora! Mr.Boots happily went for the second round of dinner!
